The catch is finding a group that meets my needs. I know of a local bicycle club for which "conversational" pace is about 19 mph. That's still too fast for me. On the other hand, a tour-the-city style group is too slow to help me develop my pace and endurance. I'm caught in the middle.
There's always the old "ride on the white line when you're in the clear". So far I haven't tried that. Even though I'm usually riding away from motor traffic, other riders come up mighty fast, and I don't want to be in the way.
So there it is. I just hope my bicycle's wheels stay in line. If they don't I'll really be in trouble!
