The word to note is "theoretically". When it comes to Tour de Cure, I'll be dealing with hills. Today I had a headwind on the way out, and riding against it felt pretty hard; but come to think of it, it still wasn't as hard as those climbs in the TdC route.
It probably doesn't help that, when I'm on a long ride like today's, I still tend to be a wimp. I don't want to push the pace too hard, and end up having a hard time getting home because I've burned myself out. I need a lot more practice, so that the theory can be put into practice.
