The very first item, riding on January 1, sounds to me like a great way to kick off a year of cycling!
Figuring out how to get the groceries home? That's why I have a rack on the hybrid, and a set of panniers. Even then I often wish I could bring home more, but I couldn't carry nearly as much riding the road bike.
Beating the rain home? I'll take that any day!!
Lanterne rouge? A dubious honor, so they say; but at least the lanterne rouge hasn't been dropped from the race.
#60 is a good one: how does a bike in motion stay upright? I sure don't know how the bike does it, but I'm glad it does.
And, last but not least, you never forgot how to ride a bike. I hope I don't!
