And running laps drove me crazy. Maybe those memories are why it's taken me months to try out the lap button on my Garmin. I wanted to see whether I could ride 15-16 mph, even if my overall average speed was lower than that.
And I can! Four out of ten laps I averaged over 15 mph; and for four laps I averaged over 14 mph. True, they were short laps, most of them not quite three miles each. I devoted one lap to low gear, high cadence spinning; and the final lap (not quite five miles) I took it sort of easy. I was getting tired by then.
When I ended my ride, the Garmin told me: New Record, Fastest 40K. Weird. 40K converts to about 24.85 miles, and I rode 33.50 miles today. But, whatever. I set a new record :)
