During the ride, there were frequent flashes of light; the kind that lights up everything and makes you realize just how bright lightning is. It's like flash bulbs going off.
Much of it was sheet lightning; I saw few actual bolts. Fine with me. I didn't start to hear thunder until my ride was almost finished. It didn't rain until I was back home, but I got rather wet walking to work -- even with an umbrella. Right about then was when the lightning got close, too. Not my idea of fun, but hey, today is Hump Day.
As to my century training, today I wound up just riding, mostly in my "low" zone. I need some more intense work tomorrow!
