It gives me pause when it comes to daydreaming about riding Paris-Brest-Paris. You'd think that all I'd have to do is to not take my meds, and I'd have an edge over other riders who don't have sleep disorders needing medication. Not so fast. Sheer exhaustion would likely set me up for disaster.
Most of the time I'm already half-awake and tense when the alarm clock goes off, which wreaks havoc when it comes to getting my resting heart rate. In fact, I gave up on that long ago.
I suspect that I'm more tired than I can even know any more. It isn't good for my cycling training, for sure. But what can I do? I love how it feels to ride, I want to ride, and I have to do it with what I've got. Let's just hope I don't get to trying to ride in my sleep.
