I decided to ride to the bike store where I bought my road bike's saddle, so I could show them exactly what kind of saddle I have. I might as well be sure we order the right thing. The store doesn't open until noon on Sundays, and by then it really is blazing hot at this time of year.
There were thunderheads building up all around, but the sun was still shining full force right around here. Luckily the trip was only about two miles long. I took the away-from-road-traffic route, which is completely unshaded during the middle of the day.
There was more of a breeze than when I did my workout ride this morning, too, and I didn't try much to work hard against it. Coming back home, though, I had a nice tailwind :)
Somehow I hadn't realized that the time I see on the Garmin's display screen as I ride is elapsed (total) time, not actual pedaling time. I thought I had ridden for about 3 hours, 10 minutes; actually I rode 2:46:51. The little jaunt to the bike shop made up for the shortfall.
So, within a week or two I'll have my new saddle, and I'll be sitting' pretty!
