Yesterday's forecast was for possible T-storms, and I headed for work at least 15 minutes earlier than usual. It looked like it might pour any minute, and I wanted to beat the rain.
As it turned out, it didn’t rain while I was underway. Fine with me. By the time I went home after work, the sun was out. For about half the distance I was bucking a stiff headwind, but when I took a turn and got a tailwind, wow!
Today I rode to work again. It was drizzling, and I wore my rain cape. That thing is a nuisance. Like most one-size-fits-all items, it’s actually too big for me. The wind makes it flap around, and if there's heavy rain as well I get almost as wet with it as without it. I was glad the temperature was rather cool this morning, because it can get really hot under that cape! And I was lucky. I heard two co-workers say they had ridden in, and gotten poured on.
Yesterday I had a tailwind going home. This afternoon Mother Nature paid me back with a stiff headwind on the way home.
The forecast for tomorrow looks even wetter than today's. Not fun for riding. The rain cape doesn't have a hood, and even if it did, I'd hardly dare use it. Not with that headlight on top of my helmet! The light can get quite hot, and I don't need it to be melting things, much less setting them on fire.
In addition to rain, T-storms are possible tomorrow. I do NOT like to ride when there's lightning! If I don't need to set myself on fire, I need even less to get fried!
